Physical activity and sport

It is important to try to work towards being physically active for at least 30 minutes a day, five times a week. This can include active lifestyle changes such as, walking the dog, gardening and using the gym.

Physical activity service provides are available in the district and give individuals the opportunity to exercise in different ways.

Community physical activity sessions

Get Up and Go is funded by Hampshire County Council and provides a range of physical activity opportunities for any East Hampshire resident aged 18+.

Wellbeing Walks scheme

Wellbeing Walks is a scheme that aims to improve people’s health and well-being through regular walks.

Sport and activity provider support

Coaches, officials and volunteers are crucial for sport at all levels. They are the people who motivate, encourage, inspire and work behind the scenes to make sport happen.

Local cycling and walking infrastructure plan (LCWIP)

An LCWIP is a strategic approach to cycling and walking improvements on a local level.

Play areas

The council owns and manages 11 equipped play areas in the district and they are regularly inspected and maintained.
