Due to essential IT work, any East Hampshire applications submitted through the planning portal after 23 May 2024, will not be received by the council until 3 June 2024.  This only affects East Hampshire applications, South Downs applications are not affected.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The easiest way to submit a planning application is online through the planning portal.

Alternatively, you can download the standard planning application form from the planning portal to complete and send in the post.

Applying online has lots of advantages:

  • your form is submitted immediately and you get confirmation that it has been received
  • online help, including video tutorials
  • an online record of your completed applications
  • no wasted paper, post and printing costs.

If you wish, you can appoint an agent, such as an architect or a builder, to make the application for you. We will check your application thoroughly and contact you to let you know whether the process has started or if you need to provide further information.
