EHDC operates a guaranteed interview scheme for veterans.

Reserve forces training and mobilisation policy
EHDC recognises how valuable members of the reserve forces make to the UK armed forces, our local communities and the workplace.
In 2023 we adopted a new HR policy that will offer additional support to reservists during their training and mobilisation commitments.
The policy covers training, time off, mobilisation, pay, annual leave, pension, keeping in touch and retuning to work.

EHDC also offers up to 10 days additional leave for cadet force volunteering.
Internal armed forces network
As an employee we invite you to join our internal armed forces network, where you can get to know your fellow veterans or other members of the armed forces family, who are there to provide support and camaraderie.
Equality and diversity group
Employees who are veterans, reservists or cadet force volunteers, as well as members of the armed forces family, are represented on the equality and diversity group.
As per our commitment to the armed forces covenant, this is to ensure that those employees are not disadvantaged in any way.
