Payments of Universal Credit

Your Universal Credit award will be paid as a single monthly payment in arrears into your nominated bank, building society or credit union account.

Paying your rent in 2024 – it’s a 53-Monday year

As 2024 is a leap year there are 53 Mondays in this financial year instead of the usual 52. This has implications for your rent and Universal Credit payments. If you claim housing benefit, you do not need to do anything.
