East Hampshire District Council would like members of the public to participate in its public meetings and we have a few ways for you to do that.
Dates of all the council and committee meetings
Full council
If you would like to ask a question at meetings of the full council, please write to the democratic services team detailing your question.
Your question must be received no later than 12pm, 4 working days before the council meeting at which the question is to be asked. You can find dates of future council meetings on our website.
You will have three minutes to ask your question at the meeting and either the leader of the council or the most appropriate cabinet member will respond.
Your question must:
- be related to the functions of the council
- not be offensive, derogatory, defamatory, or vexatious
- not be related to council staffing or be sensitive personal information about a councillor
- not be substantially the same as a question previously considered in the last 6 months
The council’s monitoring officer may reject a question if it does not meet these criteria.
Alternatively, you could make an address to a meeting of the full council.
A summary of the text of your speech should be sent to the democratic services team no later than 12 noon three working days before the meeting. The speech should reflect the summary provided. You can email the team by emailing democraticservicesteam@easthants.gov.uk
Or write to us here: Democratic Services Manager, EHDC, PO Box 310, Petersfield, GU32 9HN.
