We know some postal voters are concerned they have not yet received their UK Parliamentary general election ballot pack.

There have been reports across the country of delays in postal votes reaching residents after being sent out by their local election teams.

Postal votes for the East Hampshire constituency were dispatched first class on Friday 21 June and should have been received within the next few days.

How to apply for a replacement postal vote pack

If you haven’t received your postal vote pack, you can apply for a replacement up until 5pm on polling day, 4 July. To do this please call us on 01730 234350 or email: electoral.services@easthants.gov.uk.

If you have asked for a replacement postal vote pack you must be sure to use it because your original will have been cancelled and you cannot use it to vote.

Replacement postal vote packs will include hand-written information, use that one. The originals will be entirely printed, this one will have been cancelled.

Using your postal vote

Each postal vote comes with a first class envelope so it should reach us the day after it has been posted.

However, you can also use it by dropping it in to any polling station in the correct constituency on election day. You must fill out a form at the polling station, not doing so will mean your vote is not counted.

Postal vote process

Below is a breakdown of how the postal vote process works and the important dates on the timeline

The deadline for nominating election candidates passes on 7 June.

That evening the candidates are added to the ballot papers and sent to the printer/distributors.

There is a limited number of printer/distributors for general election managing postal votes for every election authority in the country. They collate the data and print the ballot forms and packs.

This year more than 16,000 postal vote forms have been requested in East Hampshire – more than any previous election. Approximately 10 million have been requested across the country, a 20 per cent increase from the 2019 General Election.

The dispatch date for postal votes in the East Hampshire constituency was set for Friday 21 June, with a small number being sent out on Monday 24 June.
