The UK Parliamentary General Election is taking place this week on Thursday 4 July 2024. Polling stations will be open from 7am–10pm. If you are unsure where your polling is, you can find this on the 'where do i vote?' website.

Voter ID

Voters in England need to show photo ID to vote at a polling station. Accepted forms of photo ID can be found on the Electoral Commission website

You only need to show one form of ID and it must be the original version. If your photo ID is no longer in date, it can still be used as long as it still looks like you and your name is the same as when you registered to vote.

UK Parliamentary General Election results

The count is taking place overnight and the results are likely to be declared in the early hours of Friday morning (5 July 2024).

The results will be posted on this page after they have been declared.
