A carbon-busting project for a cardiac rehab charity, a woodworking tool for a charity in Liss and an industrial-sized dishwasher for a bowls club in Clanfield were just some of the fantastic new community projects to be picked up from the proceeds of the East Hampshire Community Lottery this year.
The Community Lottery is a great way to raise money for your favourite local charities. And every year, money raised through the lottery is used to fund projects run by community groups and organisations.
Last week councillors and officers at East Hampshire District Council met to discuss this year’s applications to the lottery’s Community Chest fund.
In total they awarded £8,391.50 to nine good causes. You can see the full list of grants approved below.
The East Hampshire Community Lottery is run by EHDC to raise money for local good causes.
Players can buy £1 tickets online, with 50p going to a participating charity of the player’s choice. Of the remaining 50p, 20p is spent on administration, 20p is taken for prizes and 10p is used to build up the council’s Community Chest fund.
Community Chest grants are eligible only to organisations that have signed up to the lottery as good causes and have sold more than 50 tickets to supporters.
