The outreach worker that we’re funding at Citizens Advice is ready to help you if you’re struggling with the cost of living.
Citizens Advice East Hampshire is using £18,000 from our welfare fund to pay for an outreach worker who will meet residents across the district and link the available support with those who need it most.
Karen Wright will be visiting local community groups, foodbanks, lunch clubs, GP surgeries and more to help vulnerable people access support for fuel and food costs to avoid them needing to choose between heating and eating.
Helen Drake, CEO of Citizens Advice East Hampshire, said:
“It’s great to be able to add our outreach worker to the things we can offer to East Hampshire’s most vulnerable residents.
“Karen will be out and about across the district but if you think a specific group or activity would benefit from her visiting, please contact her via digital@caeasthants.org.uk.”
Cllr Adeel Shah, East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) portfolio holder for Community Development and Engagement, said:
“While we provide many different forms of support for our residents, we know that Citizens Advice are the experts in helping people access all the different schemes they may be entitled to.
“I’m really pleased that we’re able to work with them on this and we’ll be supporting Karen’s work in any way we can.”
