We want to hear your views on our updated Welfare and Wellbeing Strategy. Your views will help us get the strategy right and reduce health inequalities in East Hampshire.
We are refreshing our Welfare and Wellbeing Strategy. It aims to simplify and streamline the process for improving healthy outcomes for our residents, over the next five years.
It also sets out a much longer-term approach to improve resident's lives and build stronger communities.
We are seeking people's views on the draft strategy to make sure it reflects the priorities and experiences of local people.
The Welfare and Wellbeing Strategy sets out East Hampshire District Council's vision 'to empower our residents to live healthy, fulfilling and independent lives which will create supportive, well-connected and resilient communities.'
Why your views matter
We are keen to hear your views to ensure that our communities can influence the strategy. Health inequalities affect different groups in different ways. We can work towards reducing health inequalities by making sure everyone’s views are heard.
We would be grateful to anyone living, working, receiving care, or representing a group in East Hampshire to share your knowledge and experiences by filling-in a short survey.
Let us know what you think and help us to create better places, better living, better ageing, and better networks, for all.
Councillor Adeel Shah, EHDC’s portfolio-holder for Community Development & Engagement, said:
“We have a responsibility to understand and improve the welfare and wellbeing of residents in our district. We are committed to working together with communities, groups and organisations to reduce health inequalities.
"As the focus on mental and physical health becomes more important year on year, we'd like to know which priorities are most important to you.
"For the strategy to work it’s important we find the right mix. Getting it right will help us bring together more specialist services for those who need it most and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the community.
"You can also tell us if you think we've missed something important."
Responses from the survey will feed into further developing the strategy and enable us to put together an action plan to run alongside it.
