Sign up now for work trial placements – the scheme closes on 23 September
Businesses have the chance to take on new staff in a six-month placement, thanks to funding from our Grow Up! programme.
Our Kickstart scheme will match businesses to job-hunters with the right skills and experience, giving employers a low-risk way of trying out potential new talent.
And we will part fund the post up to the value of the national living wage.
But places on the scheme are being snapped up fast - businesses have until Monday 23 September to apply.
Cllr Richard Millard, EHDC Leader, said: “We're taking a proactive approach to improving local skills, providing employment opportunities and supporting local enterprises.
“The Kickstart scheme, backed by the Grow Up programme, provides a perfect way for people to get back into work or to try out a new career.
“By matching businesses to potential workers, the scheme reduces the risk for both employer and employee and gives people opportunities they would never otherwise have had.”
The Grow Up! programme is being funded by using the council’s allocation of the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Grow Up! includes ambitious and wide-ranging projects to support our rural economy, reconnect people with the countryside and provide new skills, new careers and new opportunities for our residents. Kickstart is one of these schemes.
