Planning application notice
Our planning team is working diligently to address a backlog of planning applications that has arisen over the last few months. An increasing workload for the team and rising numbers of planning applications submitted by developers and the public has put extra pressure on the council’s planning service.
In addition, in January the council swapped out a 26-year-old system for a new modern, planning portal. Although the upgrade was absolutely essential it led to a build-up of unresolved cases while the transition was being carried out. As a result, the planning team is putting extra resources into clearing the backlog and making sure the planning service is providing the best service possible for residents and developers.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by delays in resolving applications and can assure residents we will operating normally again very soon.
