The landscape capacity study (2018) provides an assessment of landscape capacity, an understanding of where landscape and visual impacts would be greatest and identifies areas which may have capacity to accommodate change. It covers the Planning Authority area.

Landscape character assessment 2024
A new landscape character assessment (2024) has been carried out which replaces the 2006 version.
This assessment covers the area of the district outside the South Downs National Park only. The detailed assessment of the South Downs National Park (2020), is available from the South Downs National Park Authority.
